Previous employers include Western Illinois University, Duke University
Center for Demographic Studies, VPI Computing Center, and NASA (Goddard Space
Flight Center). Dr. Jones has received numerous teaching awards and various
teaching and research grants. His research interests focus on the applications
of statistical and operations research techniques; publications appear in, among
others, Decision Sciences; Journal of Accounting Research; Journal of
Statistical Computation and Simulation; Journal of Accounting, Auditing &
Finance; Industrial Management & Data Systems; MIS Quarterly; Communications of
the ACM; and International Journal of Services and Standards. Grants have been
funded by the University of Arkansas; the Walton College of Business; the
Teaching and Faculty Support Center (at U of A); the National Science
Foundation; the Federal Office of Personnel Management; and the State of
Arkansas.
Dr. Jones has served as an officer of four organizations: Decision Sciences
Institute, Southwest Decision Sciences Institute, Federation of Business
Disciplines, and Arkansas Swimming, Inc. He is a Fellow of the Decision Sciences
Institute, was presented the Distinguished Service Award and the Outstanding
Educator Award by the Southwest Decision Sciences Institute, was the recipient
of the United States Swimming Phillips 66 Outstanding Service Award, and was
elected to the Arkansas Swimming Hall of Fame.
