Global Studies Cultural Dinner

slideshow here

The Master of Information Systems course, ISYS 5933 Global Information Technology Seminar course,  attempts to include a culture dinner at the end of the course each summer the course is taught; and is hosted by the faculty member.

This tradition was started by Dr. Douglas in 2004.  Each student and their family brings a food item that is a part of their culture and talks about it to the group.  This informal setting provides wonderful opportunities for sharing cultural customs and friendship.  Culture is a major factor in Global IT and this venue encourages broader and deeper cultural understanding.

The countries represented in the 2009 summer culture dinner were China, Honduras, India, Mexico, Pakistan, Russia, Sri Lanka, Turkey, United States, and Vietnam.
