Dr. Ashton is a past vice-president of the Academy of Marketing Science. He served as Editor of the Journal of Midwest Marketing from 1992 until 1996. He served on the Board of Governors of the Midwest Marketing Association from 1998 until 1994. He has served the College of Business Administration in several leadership roles including Chairman, Department of Marketing and Transportation, Associate Dean for Graduate Studies, and Associate Dean of the College. He is a recipient of the College of Business Outstanding Teaching Award and the College of Business Outstanding Service Award.
