Women in Logistics (WiL)

  • Women in Logistics is a new student organization. Its purpose is to provide an outlet of information to students who are interested in supply chain/logistics as well as to spark interest in those students who do not know about the world of supply chain/logistics management.  You can find more information at the WiL website at http://scmr.uark.edu/wil.asp.

Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, Student Roundtable of Arkansas

  • Our main goal is to connect the students to the professionals.  We strive daily to provide opportunities for growth for our member by supplying all the resouces necessary to prepare themselves for the real world.  Every year we send two students to the Global CSCMP conference which is yet another opportunity to expand your network and learn a lot in a new environment.  http://cscmp.org/

Transportation and Logistics Association

  • The purpose of TLA is to give students that are interested in a better understanding of what the transportation industry is like through guest speakers and facility tours. The goal of TLA is to better prepare students entering the transportation field through networking and industry applications.
  • Events:
    • Put together and distribute the free Hog Handbook planner every year.
    • Invite guest speakers to take part in "Meet the Company" to help students learn about various pats of the industry.
    • Plan and take tours of terminals and facilities like Kalua, Wal-Mart, and FedEx.
    • Send out resume book to executives in the industry; helping to spread the word about our students.
    • Assemble a panel of professionals to aid in resume development (some panel members include executives with JB Hunt, Revlon, Nestle-Purina, BNSF Logistics, Transplace, Kimberly-Clark, etc.)
