The CIMBA Italy undergraduate summer program offers students the unique experience of learning abroad while providing high-quality upper-division courses on a variety of subjects. Students who attend the program receive credit from either the University of Kansas or their home institution. The summer program provides an introduction to international studies for many students while continuing to enhance the education of students already possessing international experience. Travel time, in the form of two long weekends, is built into the program to encourage students to explore Europe on their own. Students also are encouraged to participate in lectures, plant tours and CIMBA’s unique personal development opportunities to enhance their educational experience.

This course involves a semester long study about the business environment in India. In order to appreciate the nuances of dealing with India, students are exposed to the history and culture of India, and the course culminates with a two and a half week trip to India, where many of the concepts learned in the course are personally experienced. The semester long preparation occurs through several Saturday classes (5-6 classes of 6-7 hours duration) that include exposing students to lectures, presentations, Indian Movies and panel discussions. Students do research that is then presented at these classes.
